Wednesday is Golfing Day

Wednesday is my golfing day. That means that officially Sundays and Wednesdays are my favourite days of the week.

What I like about golfing is that when I get into a club, everything is nice. The receptionists are polite, the marshals are friendly, and the towel lady in the changing room is courteous. Is like you're having this resort feeling. You get to play a game of golf, relax and have fun. And then don't think about work or other stuff when you're playing the game. It's full concentration. What lies between your ball and the pin is your mental focus. Any mistakes will be distractions from your own mind.

Golfing is like a platform to test my patience and accuracy of my shots, training my decision making and management the course. For a Par 5, I will set up the path of my ball mentally. I want to tee off nicely in the middle of the fairway. I want to lay by ball for the second shot to make sure I avoid bunkers or obstacles. The club selection is also important as it will determine where my ball will be landing. I know how much distance each of my club can carry. For a Par 3, I want to set up for a birdie. I don't want to be a hero, and bring my ball over the green instead. Strategy is how you can play safe, and safe your strokes. Tactics is how your accuracy will come in handy during the short game.

Perhaps, playing golf allows me to make decisions and be responsible of my actions. I can only blame none other than myself if I make a mistake. I feel glorified and satisfied when I play well. This is one game that I love, just like the principles of living life.

Qi Yue

OK, so Tiger won the British Open. HE'S BACKKKKK!!!!

I borrowed a book from the library. The Presence by Heather Graham. I just grabbed it during my break time, didn't know it's a mystery-thriller book.

Then, my computer had to restart on its own, twice.

Someone reminded me that it's the 7th Month today...

Yellow Bird vs Red Tiger live on ESPN

Yellow cap, yellow shirt, yellow belt, yellow pants, yellow striped shoes.
One word - BENG.

But if you add in thousands of spectators, nice sunny weather in Liverpool, and ADIDAS printed everywhere on the apparrel, then it has to be Sergio Garcia on Day 4 of the 2006 Open Championship in England.

He's walking along-side with the World No. 1 Tiger Woods. First time ever, they are in the same flight. Garcia played his personal best record of -7 yesterday, up against the tiger himself who is fixed on winning this title for his late father.

How will it turn out? I'm watching LIVE on ESPN now. They just teed-off at 9:30pm (Singapore Time). Reckon will end at 2-3am. Ernie Els is catching up with -12 at hole 4 now. So, it's anyone's game.

My bet's on Tiger. He's wearing red.

Dan Brown

My class is crazy over Dan Brown's novels. They are reading 'Angels & Demons' and 'Deception Point' now. I told them I just finished 'Deception Point', I just had to laugh when I looked at their faces.

Auntie or what?

Flipped the newspapers: Fairprice, GIANT, Shop 'n' Save. Discounts, Discounts and more Discounts. Just came back from Shop 'n' Save with Mummy, wow, $60 worth of groceries! That's the average amount if Mummy were to come along with me. As for me, just buy the necessities, and I'll pay $30 tops. Strangely, there's a store-wide 5% discount on top of the regular discounts and reward freebies. So HAPPY that we bought up so many stuffs. I'm damn Auntie!

I just realized the little thrills that we get day-in day-out from savings and discounts to reward points, to credit card additional discounts savings... these savings are just a mere dollar or two, and yet we're so elated. Reminds me of what my nephew always says, where's the savings when you have to spend?!

Sundays

I smell fresh air. There's a moment of peace. I hear birds chirping happily by my windowsill. Not far away, I can hear the faint grunt of Brandy. Must be the newspaper. I open my left eye, the room is pleasantly lighted by the morning sun. For a few short seconds, I have to ponder where I am and what day it is. Then, I roll over and curl up in my comforter... take a deep breath and shut my eyes again. For I know, there's no schedule, there's no curfew and there's no work. I know that the Straits Times, a cuppa aromatic coffee and a couple of canines will be waiting to great me later.

I love Sundays!
