Wednesday is Golfing Day

Wednesday is my golfing day. That means that officially Sundays and Wednesdays are my favourite days of the week.

What I like about golfing is that when I get into a club, everything is nice. The receptionists are polite, the marshals are friendly, and the towel lady in the changing room is courteous. Is like you're having this resort feeling. You get to play a game of golf, relax and have fun. And then don't think about work or other stuff when you're playing the game. It's full concentration. What lies between your ball and the pin is your mental focus. Any mistakes will be distractions from your own mind.

Golfing is like a platform to test my patience and accuracy of my shots, training my decision making and management the course. For a Par 5, I will set up the path of my ball mentally. I want to tee off nicely in the middle of the fairway. I want to lay by ball for the second shot to make sure I avoid bunkers or obstacles. The club selection is also important as it will determine where my ball will be landing. I know how much distance each of my club can carry. For a Par 3, I want to set up for a birdie. I don't want to be a hero, and bring my ball over the green instead. Strategy is how you can play safe, and safe your strokes. Tactics is how your accuracy will come in handy during the short game.

Perhaps, playing golf allows me to make decisions and be responsible of my actions. I can only blame none other than myself if I make a mistake. I feel glorified and satisfied when I play well. This is one game that I love, just like the principles of living life.
