Smell the roses

I dedicate this blog to the sense of smell. We normally take things for granted. And one of the many things is the sense of smell.

It's surprising that how tasty food is to us is very much dependent on the sense of smell, instead of the sense of taste. Experiements have shown that once you disable your sense of smell and you blind fold yourself, you cannot differentiate coffee with tea!

Imagine when you can't enjoy the simple smell or taste, wouldn't that be a huge impact on your lives? What used to be a part of life could become a chore and a all-time low during the three meal times.

So the next time you smell the opening of a cork from a wine bottle, the freshly laid tar on the road, the pungent stench of rich blue cheese or the wiff of newly mowed lawn, pause for a while and count our blessings.
