Be a traveller, not a tourist

How many times have we been in the situation of being a tourist victim? We've been there and done that, and we would come home with touristy souvenir. Now all these souvenir are practically taking up space and doesn't serve any purpose except to maybe remind yourself that you've spent a fortune on them.

A good take away is actually to be a traveller instead of a tourist. Taking good pictures, making acquintance and keeping a travel journal will make more sense. Appreciate life as the locals of the foreign countries would live. Put down your thoughts into a travel journal so that you could look back in memories.
