Family values

I've just finished reading 2 books for the month of May: The Joy Luck Club (by Amy Tan) and A Million Little Pieces (by James Frey). Highly recommended if you need some "Chicken Soup" for your soul. =)

Though both books are contrasted in many ways, (The Joy Luck Club is fictional, while A Million Little Pieces is non-fictional; Joy portrays an American-born-Chinese culture with Chinese Traditional elements in it, while Million is a typical all-American culture; Joy is written by the veteran writer Amy Tan, while Million is written by James Frey accounting on his own story), they are similar in bringing across the message of family values, appreciation for relationships, bonds and family ties, something which you are born into, taken for granted, and yet never too late to reciprocate your love, kindness and filial piety to the ones that is the very reason you are here in this world.
